School History

Good Shepherd Catholic School (GSCS) was established July 1, 2011 through the consolidation of Christ the King School, Coplay and Our Lady of Hungary Regional School, Northampton.  The site of the new school was chosen as the former Our Lady of Hungary Regional School because of the anticipated enrollment.  GSCS is the only Catholic school in Northampton.  It provides a stellar parochial school education to the towns of Northampton, Whitehall, Catasauqua, Coplay, Walnutport and Bath.  GSCS is proudly supported by six local parishes: Queenship of Mary and Assumption BVM, Northampton; St. John Fisher, Catasauqua; Holy Trinity, Whitehall; St. Peter, Coplay; and St. John the Baptist, Whitehall.  The school offers pre-kindergarten, full-day kindergarten, and Grades 1 through 8.  The teacher to student ratio is 1:16.
